Not-For-Profit

When we need it most, the power remains not in the hands of the people but in that of for-profit social media corporations. But power is never something that is gifted from the top down: It is demanded. The way we see it, even the most grassroots platforms will favor the privileged as long as they are ruled by profit-oriented tech CEOs. Historically underrepresented voices will continue to be silenced until there is a radical paradigm shift in the business models of the online environments in which we advocate.  Asmbl believes that social networks aren’t inherently evil; their unethical advertising business models are. Asmbl responsibly harnesses the power of social media for good: we will always choose truth and integrity over financial gain.
